Hypnobabies VS Epidural...

I'm thinking of doing hypnobabies for my birth, and as a last resort I will opt to have an epidural. Has anyone tried hypnobabies before? How was it? I'm interested in reading your birth stories if possible.
Also, if you used hypnobabies, did you just order the kit yourself, or did you enroll in classes with an instructor? Is it possible to combine the two???

I had a typical hospital birth last time with a cascade of interventions (water broke, pit, nubain, epidural). I am 20 weeks pregnant with #2 and will do Hypnobabies this time. I've actually roughly started the home study course (it's only 5 weeks long with additional maintenance after that) and so far it is awesome. It's great for relaxing and helping me sleep. I have no doubt that this time I will get a natural hospital birth with hopefully minimal pain.

If you want more info on hypnobabies, there is an awesome yahoo group for it. There are tons of great resources and women to answer questions. From what I've read on the yahoo site, the in person classes are great if you have one near you. The home study course requires time to read and practice (though you will have to practice daily either way) so it depends on how self motivated you are. I have read of women who have done the home course and then hired a HB instructor to supplement at the end and make sure they've gotten what they should from the course.

I've been a member of the yahoo group for a few months now :)
